The Wheeling-Ohio County Airport opened as Stifel Field in 1947, but Wheeling’s aviation history goes back much further than that. In celebration of Wheeling 250, Erin Rothenbuehler and Dale Rothert will discuss early airplane manufacturing companies, pilots, local airlines, and famous visitors to Wheeling by air.
