The West Virginia Independence Hall Foundation will present a Spirits from the Past program at 7:00 on Saturday, October 19 at WVIH, 1528 Market Street, Wheeling. The admission is $10 per person and reservations by October 15 are strongly encouraged as attendance is limited.
Costumed actors portraying “spirits” from Wheeling history will recount dramatically true events that occurred in the city over the years. Among them are the Wheeling Wharf explosion of 1853 told by Intelligencer newspaper editor Archibald Campbell (Tim Thompson), the murder of Adam Buch told by Robert “Doc” Poole (Walt Warren), weird happenings at Tunnel Green told by “Annie Greenteeth” (Judi Hendrickson) and the spirits of two unnamed thieves (Dave Clutter and Dave Barnett) will relate the story of the attempted robbery of more than $1 million from the Custom House safe during the Civil War.
