a veteran of indian wars and the revolutionary war, john waddell settled at short creek in 1795 where the family operated a grist mill for generations.

john nichols was in ohio county by 1775. in 1785 he purchased the worthington tract, now north park, which remained in the family for 125 years.

this presentation explores the histories and contributions of both families and their kinship with other local pioneer families.
