Through photographs, video, music, art, and readings of primary source material, this multimedia presentation will tell a story of African American life in Wheeling from slavery through Civil War, Emancipation, “Jim Crow,” the “Great Migration,” desegregation, Civil Rights, urban renewal, and contemporary life.
